In short, I had a good, but not terrific day. I am looking forward to taking another shot at sub-25 hours someday.

great read, well done Andrew
I put a link to my full race report in the initial post, here it is again: http://ajwellman.blogspot.com/2012/08/leadville-100-race-report.html
I started running ultras 18 months ago, so I guess you could say I trained for 18 months. In that span, I ran several 50 milers and dozens of 20 - 30 mile runs. My formal training plan was 24 weeks long and started in March of this year.

That's great Andrew, very impressive for your first 100. How long have you been training for a 100? Have you done a full race report somewhere?
cheers brendan
Lori - Not sure yet. I don't think I will do LT100 next year. I think I need a year off of that -- but I think I will probably do it again at some point. The only 100 I am considering is the WS100 if I get through the lottery. If not, maybe try to run some 50s to improve on my 50 mile PR.
I hope I didn't give the impression I was unhappy with my time. I am grateful for the whole experience. I finished in 26 hours and 45 minutes.
AJ
But you did finish, from some of the race reports I've read finishing is terrific- what was your time?
cheers brendan
