Hi Eric

I hope you and yours are safe and well.

Great instalment with a wonderful insight to how you coach your athletes. I had a though for something you might like to speak to in an up and coming episode of Running With Eric. "EGO" Ego and how important it is to leave it at home when you run out the door. I had an experience about 2 weeks ago when while on a 12km run I had a guy fly past me on the start of a hill of about 8% grade and I thought wow, good on you. The hill is about 2km long and about 50M from the crest I came across him hunched over in 2 sucking in big air. I stopped to make sure he was ok and all he kept saying was he thought he went out a little too fast. Ya recon!

I've had this happen several times when out and usually when I come up behind them and pass I just smile.

Its human nature to always want to match or catch that person but, as you know, its about concentrating on your run, your effort, what your trying to achieve by being disciplined, in the moment and not showing off or being a smart arse.

I just love your video's and enjoy them very much. Take care Eric
