Hey Robert - great question. Yes, depth jumps definitely help with force production, but differently than the force we are looking for in this video.
The purpose of depth jumps is to train your elastic energy and leg stiffness so you can transition your force production QUICKER, with less ground contact time. With more emphasis on landing.
Where as this video speaks more to the concentric or the push off during your run gait. Or liking it to jumping, the jump up versus the landing.
