That looks so amazing Margot! Hows the training going?

Eric, great question. This race meant a lot to me. there were several things that I learned that I did not expect to learn. The one that surprised me the most was the peace that I found within when I was running alone. It was a different experience then what I feel when I train alone. I had my iPod charged and filled with new playlists but never used it. I loved the atmosphere of camp and the friendships I made in camp and on the course but I craved the time that I had by myself. After 170+ miles and 6 days of running with everything I needed on my back, I spent many hours reflecting on my life. We are all so busy with family, jobs, and life and many of us don't have the opportunity to be by ourselves for an extended period of time. This race allowed me to reconnect with myself and therefore be a better person when I am with others.

Margot, ........................ I'm trying to think of something appropriate here, to express how in awe I am of the things you do, not just the events you participate in but your mindset, your way of life and your outlook on life. Unfortunately I have no such words to adequately describe my admiration of all that you do and the way you live your life.
I have read your blogs and comments, following you with great interest and until now I felt as if I, who is just starting on my journey of discovery with the help and insights of you all, had nothing I could possibly add that was meaningful. I felt it would be some what trite coming from a newbe like me when you have done and achieved so much.
Please know that from the other side of the world you have impacted someone and still do impact someone in the very best possible way.... I Thank You So Much.

What was the greatest thing that you learned, that you did not expect to learn?
