Race specific CI?

Started Apr 6, 2014 0 Replies

Hi EricI've come to figure a couple of things, firstly my 1:25 attempt is a real push - not an issue (it wouldn't be a CI if it wasn't) :-)But what I think is missing is training that involves…Continue

My son has got a set of 'mini' skate board ramps - they are made of plastic so have a bit of 'give' in them Guess what - they make brilliant slant boards! The angle of ascent increases, so you've got…Continue

Cool Impossible goals and self doubt

Posted on April 3, 2017 at 4:00am 0 Comments

When I first read Cool Impossible back in 2013 my original “Cool Impossible” running goals were all time based, and essentially based around achieving ever better half marathon PBs

A disappointing half marathon result in October 2014 followed by a period of reflection after my 2nd London Marathon in April 2015 led me to revise my goals – a never ending quest to continually shave seconds off race times not only seemed ultimately futile (I’d naturally hit a limit –…

Run slow to go faster?

Posted on February 15, 2016 at 12:27pm 6 Comments

After my time with Eric last September his plan was for me to run as much as possible in HRZ2 which for me is 134 to 144 BPM, Aiming to build endurance. At first it felt weird because its so 'slow'. But after several months I can feel my endurance building. And my pace and heart rates are interesting as well! Based on 10 mile and more runs, Averages are

November 13:15 min mile with HR 145

January 12:47 min mile HR 139

February 11:12 min mile HR 140

Want to go faster for…

Hi Rich hope you and the family are well.

I'm really liking the photos you post of your explorations, keep em coming.

Invo 8 have just opened a retail outlet here & I was wondering what shoe you wear & if you would recommend them. Except for online, until recently, they have been reasonably rare down here. Cheers

Hiya Rich hope the dirt is treating you well. The "Running Man" you use as your Monika, I've seen it before but for the life of me I can't remember where.

How did you come across it, it's a great image.

What model Garman do you used, I'm looking to up-grade & wondered what you were using?

Thanks for your help Rich but 1 last question, I'm redoing Erics marathon training program jumping in at week 4 as its 16 weeks to the half and wondered is there any spacific part of my training that I should I modify to any great extent.

Again thanks for the advise

Hi Rich hope you & yours are well. As I've heard that only the "in" crowd run the half marathon I've signed up for a trail half marathon at the end of February next year.
I was wondering if your could suggest any changes I might make to a marathon program (if you would make any) that will help me in the half. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
