Made my first "green smoothie" this morning- it was actually purplish-black due to blueberries. As I and the blender are humming along my 10 year old Ethan walks past, "mom, that looks like death".
Soooo, here's what's in the "death smoothie" - quite tasty actually and of course my response to Ethan, "oh honey it's life!"
2 bananas
bunch of frozen blueberries
several leaves of kale
1tsp wheat grass powder
2 tbsp hemp seed hearts
1-2 ish cups of water
Blend the hell out of it and drink!
recipe from www.thebestofraw.com
BTW I opted for the Oster Bee Hive blender- WAY cheaper than the big guys and did a smashing job!

Hello everyone!
I'll start with some friends around here in France a sugar detox in 2 weeks (the 14th of April), who join???
I'll try to share my menu, already looking for ideas so if you have some, thank's a lot. And of course if you have some advice...
Thank's a lot
C U on the trails ;-) (if you come in Annecy!)
20 days completed - well done to all and thank you, it really helped my willpower knowing I was part of a group taking on this challenge.
I’ve spent a large part of the 20 days with a couple of colds (perils of having a three year old daughter…), my usual approach to get through would have been coffee and chocolate, feeling better for an hour or two and then crashing. I’ve definitely had steadier energy levels without the sugar, of course I did not give up the caffeine!
It’s been a real eye opener how many products contain sugar, my usual ‘healthy' lunch of prepackaged mixed grain salad and cooked chicken/turkey were both off the menu, that was a surprise. I’ll take forward this awareness and keep sugar in my diet to a minimum, so that it’s a conscious decision when I do consume it. Like tomorrow when I’ll take my daughter out for ice cream to celebrate completing her reward chart today by trying 20 new foods in the past month or so, good timing for me too :)
I have not gone 100% without any sugar, maybe 90+%. What this has done for me is get me on track and not craving things that are not good for me. I definitely would love to have a beer but (maybe being too honest) I am not having a two or three almost every night to help deal with...well stuff. I have stayed away from posting until now but appreciate reading everyone's progress.
Day 12 - I had the worst cravings yet today while sitting at my dest doing paper work, it just came over me like a wave. It was about 3.30pm, I wasn't particularly hungry before hand, just happened right out of the Blue. The first thing I did after realizing it wasn't going away is to have a drink of water, but no, that didn't work, so then I ate a banana and made myself a cup of white tea (with cream for those in N. America). Unfortunately I didn't have the awareness to notice if it was the banana, the tea or both that did the trick but the craving left me and hasn't returned.
Breakfast - Ham, Cheese & Tomato with White coffee, Lunch - Home grown Cherry tomato's, green salad an apple with Black tea. Afternoon snack - Banana & White Tea, Dinner - Zucchini & smoked ham slice with a Mango salad and soda water.
When I started the detox I was away in Queensland working and I didn't weigh myself, so I'm not a 100% sure but I think I've lost about a kg (2.2 pound).
Good luck everyone and keep up the good work!
