My uphill technique has improved many fold since I started exercising on the slant board.
But I am always loosing focus on the downhill. Should I strike heel first or forefoot? Should I control my speed or lean into the descent?
Can someone please share a few pointers?
Hi Chris - lots of good stuff in this forum. As Robert eluded to, I coach my athletes to visualize running downhills like pedaling a bike. This helps get the knee drive, keeping your stride short and not heel striking first.
As I comment in this link, it takes some practice and patience to slow down at first to get this good form - but your body will be better for it in the long run.
