Hi Scott, I'm following Eric's marathon program on Training Peaks, I'm not sure if this is the same program as you but the same warm up is included and I use this thus.
As the speed ups are of no specific speed, just as you feel, I jog/run easy a 30-45 second recovery between each speed up. The idea here is to use them as warm up not part of the session.
