Things are coming along nicely...

After finally getting to a continuous 5k things are now moving along nicely and gradually increasing mileage, with the introduction of hill sprints coming up in the next week.

I have just had an amazing two weeks holiday near to St David’s in Pembrokeshire and my training runs along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path onto St David’s head were just awesome even if really hot. The best one was the five miler where the mist had drifted off the sea onto the path obscuring visibility on St…

An introduction to fell running...

Training has been going well since my last blog. I am now running 15 min/walking 2 for three intervals which is covering around 5 miles. The best runs have been over Cannock Chase early evening when the light has been great and the woodland just beautiful.

The running is moving forward and I am now actually really enjoying it. Especially the trail runs across The Chase, which are absolutely wonderful. I can't believe that people run with earphones in, when the sound of nature is all around them. Can't wait until I am in the mountains.

I am also the proud owner a pair of off-road running shoes, a…

And so it begins...

It has been 18 months since my last challenge, which was The Scotland Coast to Coast hosted by The Rat Race, and now I am ready for a new one. So at the end of March I started looking, and fell on the Mountain Marathon, generally a two day event running in the mountains, visiting control points along the way.

This was all very well, but I have a fear of bogs, heights and the dark, not to mention the fact that I haven’t run in those last 18 months so my…
