Today's run thoughts

Ok so I was going to do a 30k run before my op in just over a weeks time, but looks like I'll have to put up with today's 18.5k, not complaining though I simply ran put of time not motivation :)Today's thoughts - mostly... bow and arrow, cowboy and lasoo, bow and arrow bow and arrow... Step over the log, step over the log, bow and arrow ha!Then there were some others... My shadow provided an interesting tool to check my form at times. Dropping my arms low seemed to help me keep straight, I found myself slouching forward at times (must be too much time at the computer at work :) ). Took imaginary gels as a joke with myself, never heard of them before getting on here, still haven't had one, funnily enough pepped me up for a bit! Swapped between the forefoot strike I aiming for and my dirty old heel strike, seems this is allowing me to transition to where I want to go and still enabling me to increase my fitness/runs. Decided I really need some new shoes, my dirty old Asia's cross trainers are making it hell to work on my forefoot strike. Placing my forefingers on each hip seemed to help me focus on my form, straightening up and running forward from there. I still love the old shake out the shoulders and arms by letting them all go limp and flap around. Lastly was funny how when I got to my finishing spot I felt like I could go for ages more, then when I finished and slowed to a walk my whole body went into idle, felt heavy... Geepers maybe I did put some effort in :)Finally I had a couple of great moments when things just felt good! Harness that stuff.... Run was great regardless, beautiful day, great country views and basically had the rds to myself ahhhHave fun everyone, cheers from me

  • At least "going keep" would keep you thinking.... :)
  • oops, got it backwards "keep" on the L and "going" on the right....I would be the goober that would write it backwards!
  • Sounds fun! Those kinda runs are the best! This reminds me of the funny things we do when we are on long runs like this and I wonder how I funny I would look if someone were watching. I also thought of a young lady that wrote on her shoes before her ultra.. "keep" and on the R shoe "going" on the L shoe, so that every time she looked down she would be motivated.
