recipe for long run energy!!
Got this recipe from a runner friend who got it from a blog or post somewhere, but they are awesome!
1 cup rolled oats
1/2cup roasted pumpkin seeds
zest of one orange (as much to your taste)
1 tsp vanilla extract
12 pitted dates
1 cup dried coconut
1/4 cup of water
1cup dried coconut
Add ingredients except water and coconut to food processor and process for about a minute until crumbly. Add enough water to make sticky. Roll into tablespoon size balls and roll in dried coconut. They are about 125-150 calories and are great for energy. I froze some and took them out for long run! You can also add some walnuts in there or add some of the coconut in witht the mix. Change it up however you like!! Warning...they are also addictive!

Kurt-My tummy doesn't like gu/gummies/sport drinks much either. Another product I like that goes easy on the belly and is not so sweet is CR 333. It is electrolyte/sport drink. I like lemonade flavor best. You can get at carborocket.com
