New to Cool Impossible

Just read book! I have a marathon May 2014. Looking for advice, do I have enough time to switch my running style to correct form?  Waiting to source equipment, meanwhile improvised on power plate/rolled towel, very first lot of foot exercises.   Big revelation, I am a bent leg runner, no wonder no matter how hard I tried to run I did not get anywhere fast, also explains my well developed quads! Went out and tried two 1 mile runs (wearing normal brooks mid stability shoes) managed to keep on my toes, strangely effort felt easier and it did not feel as if I was running that fast, although legs got very tired with the knee drive which was not as high as I would like it to be, but took off  half a min of fastest 1 mile time! 8.28.  That is fast for me.

My cool impossible - I want to beat my husband in the May 2014 marathon - question is whether there is sufficient time. (I really don't want to wait until after the marathon before I can start on this new adventure).
