Tulsa Run 15k Saturday. Coach has set some pacing goals to "challenge" me. He also wants me to come up with mantra to help me focus amd challenge the pace. Any suggestions? "Don't puke" was my first thought ;)
"Lose yourself" another one I like, from an odd source...Eminem. "...lose yourself in the music, the moment, you own it.." sometimes just "losing myself" sets me loose!
My mantra lately has been "This is what I am doing right now". Every time I start to struggle I repeat this to remind myself that all I have to take care of now is to keep moving my feet.
Yesterday my mantra on my hill repeats was: "I want this". It then changed to "I got this" for the last 5 min. Our mantras should always be very specific to the situation and not a general one mantra fits all.
