Hip Rotation

Hi Eric,Wanted to get your perspective on optimal hip rotation. I've seen a number of drills oriented around increasing hip rotation by "running the line". I've tried this a few times and it definitely feels different. Before I invest more time in it I want to make sure this is something I want to groove in my running form. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks,Clay

  • Sounds good Eric.  I think this is a key missing ingredient of my training.

Can't wait for the DVDs - stop teasing and start shipping!  Also - when is your foot strengthening device (that you demo'd on tour) going to be available?

    Thanks,

    Clay

  • Hip rotation is extremely important, especially for runners who are so used to going "north and south" so to speak.  Hip rotation exercises are a big part of training my athletes and is a prime focus in my up and coming DVD training series (sorry for the plug, there are coming).

I also use these exercises in a variety of ways to help activate the glute - which should be the focus of every runner.

So keep at it Clay - E
