Boy this morning tested me. 4: 45 am run. 7 mi with 8x400 speed intervals followed by 2X 200 speedier intervals in -3 windchill blowing snow. It was tough and I wanted it to be easier, but very pleased with results #feelinglikeachamp10059091874?profile=original

  • Awesome, Lori. So inspiring! I've had many days like that and it always helps me to project to how I'll feel once I'm done. I've never, ever, ever regretted DOING, just not doing. The satisfaction (or regret) is much sticker than the temporary physical relief of not doing.

  • Reading Lori's post makes me realized how spoiled I am in southern California....getting out at 5AM in 40 degree weather is nothing. #gottobuckup

  • Hardcore Lori - hardcore #respect

  • Lori you inspire me to be the best I can, as Ken Chlouder says, "Your Stronger Than You Think You Are" ........................ from he who definitely has feet of clay.

  • AHA! I didn't own "satisfaction over desire" until just now! I understood what it meant but didn't "own" it. Thx. It's mine.
  • Satisfaction over desire.  You are a day better than yesterday and it's days like this that you will remember.

  • "shit it's cold...shit...shit..I can't run fast...shit...WTF!"  that was my mantra for the first one...then regrouped and decided that mantra would not get me through 7 more 400 meter intervals. Next up, "I've got this!...shit...I've got this...shit...I've got this shit!" Then, "Bring it!"  I debated whether or not to only run with the wind... Nope. We're gonna do this up and down, with and against the wind. I learned to find great satisfaction in the effort...in the moment in the "doing" as opposed to the "getting done"

  • What was your mantra?  What did you learn?
