A few days ago I posted about a leg pain I have on both sides of both legs. Coach Orton explained to me what this could be and is as follows:
- Comment by Eric Orton on Friday
"these are most likely your stabilizing muscles and just like your calves, should calm down after some conditioning. This is a good sign, but again, listen to your body and give them rest when needed. Also be sure you are allowing your heels to hit the ground until your feet a good and strong.
You might be keeping your heels elevated which could be too much right now."
I don't mean to seem impatient, I just want to run wild but comfortably. With that said, my calves conditioned a lot faster than this and feel great but these muscles still haven't. On top of that, it's actually starting to feel like its shin splints. Even more so, I know its pain and not just soreness or discomfort because with my calves earlier on, I still felt comfortable about running. But with my current condition, it hurts to the point that I don't want to run. Unless I'm on really soft grass or dirt. So I just feel like I'm still doing something wrong; whether it be form, foot placement, shoes, or whatever and would just like to know where to go from here. Once I put the fore foot strike technique into play, I've felt better and ran farther. But now if I'm getting shin splints again, it's kinda depressing because I love to run. Many thanks to Coach Orton and anybody that advises me further on this matter.
