Black toenail, check.

So I'm on my way to my first black toenail. According to Jeff Galloway, getting your first one is a sign that you've moved your training into a higher level. I'll take that as a good thing. He had some good tips on dealing with these. Thankfully, it doesn't hurt at all.

I may post a picture once it reveals itself in its full technicolor glory. I bet you can't wait for that...

  • Yeah, I hear you. I recently bumped up my mileage so I'm pretty sure that is the culprit. My shoes have a big toebox and extra room at the end. I also did a couple of hairy trail runs and I know I stubbed my toe on some stumps more than once.

    Oh well, live and learn!

  • weeel, I've never subscribed to the idea that it's just part of training... from any friends who got them consistently, they always ended up realizing that there was SOMEthing they could change or do to prevent them (especially doing a hard look at what size shoe they were supposed to be running in).  One may be part of developing your sporty ability, but not perpetually I hope!

I bet that was fun to hear though... "you're taking your training to the next level"  !  I remember the first time someone sincerely called me an athlete... they was my favoritist person that day!
