"Hi Jeff - good catch, as this was a typo. You can do 30-40 min in zone 2-3, so the total time is between 60-75 min based on what you have time for. Hope this helps and hope you are enjoying the training. "

Week 9 Day 3 Run program - Missing timing

Hi Eric,I have the ebook th Cool Impossible, and my copy has this workout for Week 9 Day 3Day 3 WU: 5–10' building to HRZ 2.MS: HRZ 2–3. Finish with 5–6 × 10" sprints on flat or hills (mix it up) w/1' RI.CD: 5' in HRZ 1.The main set doesn't give the time duration for the HRZ 2-3. Can you let me know what the Main Set duration should be so that I can add this in to my program.Thanks.See More

"OK,  So I did my mile test yesterday and have been trying to work out how to convert my Mile time (1.60932 Km) to Km's.  First I thought that you could just divide the time by 1.6 and this would give me a minutes / km time.  Nup…"

Eric Orton replied to Jeff Jorgensen's discussion Question around shoes (Hoka) and Drop
"Yeah, I would definitely try them on. My feet are very narrow, so Altra is just too wide for me, and why I like Salomon and Inov8. If you cant find them locally, check Zappos or Running Warehouse, both have very easy return policies and quick…"

"Thanks Eric for the reply. Will look to see where I can get some Altra shoes from locally. I have always said that the best shoe for you is the one that fits. Hopefully the Altras are a good fit."

Eric Orton replied to Jeff Jorgensen's discussion Question around shoes (Hoka) and Drop
"Great question here. Since you do have the Hoka's and are doing the strength training, I would suggest you look at one of the more minimal Altra road shoes. So you have the Hoka's for your longer runs and use the Altras for shorter/faster…"

Speed Zone Tables in km instead of miles

Hi Eric,Looking at starting out on training plans as in the Cool Impossible, and notice that all the Speed Zones are based on a 1 mile time.  As all my training is done in km (being in Australia) is there a table that converts the Mile times to a KM time?I am sure there are others that would find this useful as well. The other question would be that if I just converted the mile time (1.6km) into a km time, would that be accurate to use for training?so if my best mile time is 7min (for ex) to get…See More

Question around shoes (Hoka) and Drop

Hi All,Have been reading "Cool Impossible" and having a read of these forums. My question is about the general principle of the shoes.I have seen people ask questions about zero drop, and cushioning, and have seen that Eric is a fan of the Salomon shoes and Innov8 brand.I am just starting to use my second pair of Hoka One One Stinsons which have a 6mm drop, but a meta rocker (meaning that the shoe is like a rocking horse) and are said to be like running on marshmellows. So they have a fair bit…See More
