I have a question.  In TCI it says when you've mastered the slant board it's time to move up to the stability disc.  I've been using the slant board for a year now with tremendous results.  But I…Continue

I ran a road marathon last Sat.  It's only my 2nd one.  With three weeks recovery from a 100 miler I had my 10th PR for the year.  3:56:55   I met two goals for the race 1; break 4 hrs  2; no…Continue

Finally a new PR for this year.  But let me regress.  I had a banner year in 2014 nine Pr's.  But I finished the year with a spur of the moment fifty miler.  Which was very hilly and as it turned out the course was wet and muddy.  A 10 mile loop with 14 stream crossings and hills that seemed to go straight up and down plus lots of suck mud.  I suffered after that one.  Then in the spring of 2015 I did a 100 miler while not that hilly the course was also mud fest.  I suffered again.  It took…See More

"I just received my Strength Bundle 2.  I watched the video and all I can say is wow.  It is good to see Jeff and Michelle struggling for balance too.  I gave it a brief go with no poles on carpeting and it is a little easier that way.…"

"Forgot to add: keep working on the one pole slant board balance.  And fool around with what hand you hold the pole, as one will be easier than the other. To improve, do several reps of the 15 seconds, then go to two poles after for endurance.…"

"Hey Bill - I thing you are definitely ready to step up to the disk.  You never want to completely abandon the slant board, but I would begin to work on the disk: squats, rotations, and the lunge sequence.  The Disk Lunge is probably the…"

Lori Enlow replied to Bill Kulwicki's discussion When to step up?
"Which exercises are you trying to get to "no poles" with? Should just be stance positions (front, uhill, dhill), to be able to balance, not the exercises. The exercises are all supposed to be done with poles. Even if you are not able to do…"

I have a question.  In TCI it says when you've mastered the slant board it's time to move up to the stability disc.  I've been using the slant board for a year now with tremendous results.  But I can't make it past a few seconds with one pole let alone no poles.  What does Eric mean here?  If mastering means no poles it will be a long time.  As I have made very little progress doing this.  How long has it taken you folks out there?  The workouts carried me to 9 PR's last year and I feel I…See More

Hi Bill hope your running well. As part of Eric's marathon program 1 session a week is running with no shoes which for someone who up until I started Eric's run foundation program had not even run on the beach with no shoes is amazing. After finishing my barefoot session on Wednesday night I remembered your comment about running in your B2R's with no socks and I have to agree it feels amazing. Barefoot with out being barefoot, a whole new world is opening up before my eyes. Thanks Bill for the tip.

Thank you Bill for the comment on Lori's blog, "Fear & Pain", I truly believe that every breath should be treated as a Joy for it is the essence of our existence. Not in any religious, or spiritual context but in the simple fact that the simple act of drawing a breath avails us to live and be who and what we choose.
