"Great advise everyone, thanks for your insight in helping Andres. Andres, I would continue to retest for new training zones every 8 weeks or after each phase.  And Ben's advise on consistency is really key. The Three P's: Consistency…"

Chanching HR and SP zones throughout 5-month program.

I strained my calf while getting ready for the 5-month program (too much too soon), which I will finally be starting for the 2nd time on Tuesday the 22nd (doing the 20-min HR test tomorrow). Due to the calf injury (and previous back injury) I didn't exercise for 5-6 months and prepared only 1 week prior to the speed test. Thus, I'm a bit overweight (about 7 pounds) and out of shape. I ran the mile in 7:30, but I'm sure under normal circumstances I could have done the mile in less than 7 mins…See More

"Thanks for the post shared, Ben. Will definitely help for future training. La Paz does offer what you point out, but it's very difficult to find flat terrain for the low HR runs. Read somewhere in the forum that Eric recommended walking vs…"

"Great question and I would only change the length of the long run.  Depending on your ability, I would take the long run up to 20 miles in length versus the 3 hours in the program.  The 3 hours might get you there?? All of the other…"

Five-month program for marathon...Eric writes in TCI more training needed

Hello, in TCI Eric mentions that the five-month program would be fair training for a marathon, but would require a bit more training. Does anyone know what would that be?I started the five-month program and got a back problem that kept me off the roads for 4 months and have to start all over from zero. Marathon is March 8th, 2020.Thanks for any feedback on this!See More
