The weather here has turned cold/snowy so I'm looking for alternatives for the foot strength portion of my runs. I have Vibrams. Can I opt to do just the foot strength exercises instead of the running? Should I run on a treadmill?

I've done well this winter, even though this year the cold hurts. Most days I layer up and go out but I've given myself permission to stay inside if it means I will 1. be safe 2. get my run in 3. not be as tired. Maybe it's the cold weather or maybe I'm in the middle of the marathon plan but I'm finding I need more rest and the cold is taxing on me. Anyway, it's pretty much all good.
