Hi all, hi Eric,
I've been diagnosed with PF on my right heel last week (pain has been around for about a month and I also ran my first "mini-Ultra" with it (Ultramarathon Zermatt Switzerland) on 5 July) but I completely misinterpreted the symptoms, thought it was a stress fracture due to hitting a stone or something.
What I'm doing: getting PT, cooling, massaging the foot and calves, stretching calves, starting Eric's foot strength training cause I was born flat-arched ;) I switched entirely to barefoot running about 3 years ago, thought that would improve my arch enough but that was obviously wishful thinking.
Now I had planned to do the UTS 50 in Wales, UK 11 September but currently the pain always comes back even after low intensity runs in plain terrain and I wake up with a stiff ankle after exercising the previous day.
What would your advice be regarding the race and my training in the upcoming weeks?
