Hey, so I feel that I am ready to begin into the foundation phase, but then, as I was rereading the last sections of TCI, Eric mentions the "preparation phase" again. So, I went to look for it and found it on page 128. There isnt much info about how to go about it other than build up until your ready for the foundation program. How do I know when I'm ready? At what pace/HR zone should these runs in the prep phase be? Anybody got any tips? I feel like im ready to begin phase 1, but I would like to be sure before I do.

Hi David - if you feel you are ready and confident in doing the tests, I think you can go for it.  Page 128 Prep Phase is referring to those veteran runners who might not have done the details run form prep phase in previous pages.

I just wanted to be sure runners have been consistent with running prior to starting the Foundation program and testing.

Cool thanks for the quick reply Eric! Got a quick question. So, I'm a carpenter (currently living in Germany) and during the summers especially, I'm only able to make it out running 2 maaaabye 3 times a week because of long work hours and family time. I'd love to do this running plan, but would it still work even if I am not able to make the 4+ times a week. If so, how would you recommend shifting the program around?
