I just finished Phase 2 of the TCI and love the amount of running and the long distance runs. My goal is to do some long distance hikes/runs this summer, including my first 50 mile day. I was wondering what might be the best option for next steps. I am a slow runner, averaging 12:30 miles on my long trail runs throughout the program, and my longest run so far has been about 12 miles in Phase 1. Should I restart TCI or should I look at a different plan?
Now that you have this great foundation, you could look at my 50 mile race training plan that is specific to trails. Or you could repeat TCI program and just increase the weekend long run to match your summer distance goals?
